The University of California provides General Liability and Event Liability coverage for Employee Clubs events. General/Event Liability insurance provides coverage for certain liabilities arising from LBNL Employee Clubs events and related activities.

General/Event Liability insurance provides coverage for certain liabilities arising from LBNL Employee Clubs events and related activities. Coverage limits are up to $1 million per claim and $2 million aggregate. Among the types of coverage provided are:

  • Standard insurance policy issued to business organizations to protect the business against liability claims for bodily injury and property damage arising out of premises, operations, products, and completed operations; and advertising and personal injury liability.
  • $1,000,000 Per Occurrence / $2,000,000 General Aggregate
  • $1,000,000 Damage to Premises Rented to You
  • $20,000 Medical Payments
  • Liquor Liability, Abuse/Molestation, Employment-Related Practices and Designated Professional Services are excluded
  • No accident medical coverage is included
  • $1,000,000 Per Occurrence / $2,000,000 General Aggregate
  • $1,000,000/2,000,000 Participant’s Legal Liability limit
  • Participant’s Legal Liability coverage is available for athletic activities.

Event Types Requiring an application and individual underwriting approval to bind.

Philadelphia will consider offering coverage for the following fundraising events by application and additional premium upon underwriting approval:

  • Parades sponsored by the Insured
  • Aircraft
  • Motorcycle runs and automobile rallies
  • Fireworks—exhibitors operated by the Insured
  • Firearms
  • Animals—other than house pets
  • Carnivals and fairs with mechanical rides sponsored by the Insured
  • Rock, Hip-Hop or Rap concerts—with admission over 500 people
  • Events including contact sports
  • Rodeos sponsored by the Insured
  • Political Rallies
  • Any event lasting more than 5 days (including otherwise acceptable events)
  • Any event with greater than 500 people at anyone time (including otherwise acceptable events)
  • Any event with liquor provided by the Insured if a license is required for such activity
  • Any activities by third party telemarketing, direct mail or internet advertising (including spam) firms

Claims Reporting

How to report a claim:

  1. Gather the Facts

    When reporting a notice of loss (injury, property damage to third parties, auto accidents, etc.; related to a registered event), please provide as much detail as possible. This should include, but not be limited to, Insured Name (The Regents of the University of California plus student organization/club name), Contact Name (student organization/club), Policy Number, Claimant Name, Claimant Contact Information, Date of Loss, Location of Loss, Cause of Loss, Your Policy or Reference Number, Initial Steps Taken to Mitigate the Loss, Type (s) and Description of Damage and Estimated Amount of Loss.
